2023 THEME

Accelerated by the pandemic, the culture surrounding medicine is changing. Faced with the ever-present suffering of patients, many healthcare professionals are choosing to leave after years of feeling the stress of being underpaid, overworked, or simply overwhelmed. Many of those who remain have lost their gusto for work and are experiencing compassion fatigue, which they then transmit to their mentees.

How can we help each other reignite the desire that led us to practice medicine? What sustains us in our work? How can we work and educate our students in a way that doesn’t lead to burnout and disillusionment? We propose this conference to discover or rediscover the beauty in practicing medicine.
